Volunteering
Interested in Archaeology or Social History as a profession? Looking for a summer placement on your university course, or do you have some free time and an interest in working at a museum?
The St. Albans Museums Service has been able to provide volunteer work for all these groups in the past.
Unfortunately, we are unable to take on any more volunteers at present. Please feel free to check again in the future, but note that there may be a long waiting list until any future vacancies arise.
Due to space and safety/security restrictions within the museum, only a limited number of volunteers can be taken on at any one time.
There are also a limited number of work experience placements for year 12 and 13 pupils who are hoping read History or Archaeology at university or who wish to pursue a career in which a placement in a museum would be valuable. If you are interested in a work experience placement with the St Albans Museums please contact our Education Officer, Fiona Charlesworth, using the form on the left hand side of this page called 'Contact the Education Department'.
If you are interested in a career in archaeology or museums have a look at our careers page for any current job vacancies and advice about getting into the profession.
