Planning a visit to Verulamium Museum.

We offer a free preliminary visit for teachers who are planning or have booked a school trip.

Admission to Verulamium Museum is £2.00 per person - for adults and pupils. Schools in St. Albans District have free admission.

We provide artefact handling sessions and Roman Market sessions which last 1 hour for a maximum of 35 children.

We have three different worksheets on various topics for use while in the Museum. These are 10p each to buy and are copyright and therefore not to be photocopied.

There are cloakrooms and toilets inside the Museum and also a shop, selling books, souvenirs, postcards, etc. Goody bags can be made up in advance, please contact the front of house team on 01727 751810 or email Mark.boyd@stalbans.gov.uk. to arrange.

We have a small lunch pavilion (max 35 pupils) which can be booked direct at £10 per hour. Alternatively you may be able to book the parish hall of St. Michael's church, opposite the Museum or a room in the nearby Inn on the Park cafe. Or you can picnic in the park

We have full disabled access throughout the Museum. There is also an accessible toilet in the basement, with lift access from the ground floor.

It is possible for a group to book handling sessions for the visually impaired, call Brian Marpole on 01727 751815.

Coach parking costs £15 per coach for the day in the NCP car park next to the Museum. This is payable in a pay and display machine, which does not give change.

In Verulamium Park, you can see two large sections of the Roman city wall including the foundations of one of the main gates, and in the 'Hypocaust building' there is a large mosaic floor with an underfloor heating system.
