'A perspective View of the Canal at Gubbins in Hertfordshire, a seat of Sr. Jeremy Sambrooke Bart.'Published March 1748 and sold by John Tinney at the Golden Lion in Fleet Street, London.Gobions House was built by the More family during the 16th century. It was purchased in 1708 by Sir Jeremy Sambrooke who made many improvements to the house and grounds. In 1730 Charles Bridgeman, the Royal Gardener, was emplayed to create a pleasure garden. The estate was much admired during the 18th century. The house was demolished around1838.
