Wall Painter
Several wall paintings have been recovered from houses in Verulamium and reconstructed in the museum. These are some of the best preserved wall paintings from Roman Britain.
The paintings are very colourful and include images of birds, flowers, candelabrum, leopards' heads and ears of wheat.
Wall painters were specialist artists. Many of their tools, which can be seen in the museum, are familiar today, like trestles, floats and trowels.
