Excavations
The Field Archaeology Unit
St Albans Museums Field Archaeology Unit is led by Simon West, an experienced field archaeologist.
Other archaeologists are employed as required for large excavations. The Unit carries out excavations over the summer, dependant on funding.
Recent Excavations
Since 2002 we have been carrying out summer excavations at Turnershall Farm. This important site dates from the late Iron Age and Roman period and has so far produced several burials, a Roman villa and bathhouse.

How can you help?
If you would like to support our excavations you can send a donation to the Verulamium Museum Trust as we are actively fund raising for further excavations to explore this complex and fascinating site.
