Engraved portrait of Sir Francis Bacon (1561 - 1626), English stateman, philosopher and essayist, the son of Sir Nicholas Bacon, who lived at Gorhambury, St Albans.Engraved by C. Cook from an earlier print by J. Houbraken 1738. No date for this engraving but likely produced in the nineteenth century. Published by William Mackenzie, Glasgow, Edinburgh, London and New York.Part of the Lewis Evans Collection.
