A cutting from an article entitled 'Some People and their Parents', these illustrations show Sir John Blundell Maple (centre), his father Mr John Maple (left), and his mother (right).
Sir John Blundell Maple (1845 - 1903) made his fortune through the Maple furniture business, which he founded. He was also a racehorse owner. He lived in Childwickbury, near St Albans and founded the Sisters Hospital and Clarence Park in St Albans. He was a good friend of the future Edward VII, and MP for Dulwich.
