Work PlacementsWe are delighted to be offering three-day work experience placements on specific dates, for school and college students aged 16 and over based at Verulamium Museum.
Placements will involve a range of activities and provide a general overview of the workings of a museum - including working with the museum’s operations, learning and curatorial teams. Tasks will include customer service and gallery supervision, supporting family and learning workshops and activities as well as curatorial and/or documentation tasks.
Work experience will be available on the following fixed dates:
Tuesday 11th – Thursday 13th April 2017 (apply by Friday 10th March)
Tuesday 30th May – Thursday 1st June 2017 (apply by Friday 28th April)
The working day is generally 10am – 4pm and we ask people to commit to all 3 days. [Please note: we are currently unable to accept placements on other dates.]
To apply, please send the following information to firstname.lastname@example.org (stating which weeks you are able to attend and with Work Experience Application in the subject line):
* A paragraph explaining why you want to volunteer at the museum and why this placement interests you
* A copy of your current CV with contact details
* The name and email address of a reference we can contact (preferably a teacher or tutor from your school or college)
We will be in touch within 14 days of the closing date to inform you of the outcome of your application. Please note that the placements are highly competitive and we are unfortunately unable to accept every student who applies.
