Rust Dust and Bust

An exhibition of Conservation in Museums
Verulamium Museum
Lecture Room
Saturday 21st July 2007- Sunday 2nd September 2007

In memory of our colleague Philip Carter who died in December, Verulamium Museum is staging an exhibition on the work of the conservator. See how conservators stop the process of decay in objects ranging from prehistoric metalwork to Edwardian vacuum cleaners, and make them fit for long-term display.

Philip Carter worked at Verulamium Museum from 1980 to 2006, on material from our own and many other museums, and on finds made by excavation units and members of the public. Many items will be back on loan for this display.
