What does the museum service collect?
When a curator considers whether or not to accept an object they will ask these questions:
What are we looking for?
The museum service collects objects that are related to the lives of the past and present people of St Albans City and district. This includes a whole range of different types of objects including archaeology, artwork and oral histories all of which must have a strong connection with the District.
We do not collect any natural history material. This includes rocks, fossils, stuffed animals and butterflies. For further details look at our collecting policy.
