Founded as the Hertfordshire County Museum in 1898, the Museum of St Albans tells the story of St Albans from the departure of the Romans to the present day.

Opening Hours
Monday - Saturday 10.00am - 5.00pm
Sunday 2.00 - 5.00pm

Open all year, except between Christmas and New Year - please check with the museum for details.

Admission free.

Group Bookings

Though admission is free all groups, whatever size, must book to book in advance through our Programme Administrator, Gladys Cummings, as booked parties will always be given priority.

There is a small private car park next to the Museum - coaches can only pull up outside in Hatfield Road, or around the corner in St. Peter's Road, to drop off or collect passengers.
