Available to schools within a 30 minute radius of St. Albans

Toy Box  History, English and Science
Duration: 75 minutes
Cost : £100 for the first session, £70 for subsequent sessions on the same day
Adult helpers needed: Please provide a minimum of 2 adults
In this hands on session, children have the opportunity to see some real toys from the past and explore the materials they were made out of and how they worked. The children will also play with a wide variety of reproduction toys  to discover how enjoyable these toys are and find out how they worked.

Forever Blowing Bubbles- Washday History, English, Science and Art
Duration: 75  minutes
Cost : £100 for the first session, £70 for subsequent sessions on the same day
Adult helpers needed:Please provide 2 adults
Children will discover how labour intensive and tiring it was to wash, rinse, dry and iron clothes in the past. They will see a variety of washday artefacts, both from living memory and the more distant past. They will find out about equipment  that was used and the materials each was made out of. Some children will have the opportunity to demonstrate how the equipment was used. All children will take part in a washday mime which incorporates all the arm and leg actions used in washday activities. They will produce an observational drawing of one of the artefacts
