Objects on Demand
Saturday 10th September 2016 (10.30am - 4.00pm) at Verulamium Museum
FREE. Saturday 10th September, 10.30am - 4.00pm, at the Verulamium Museum.
To coincide with Heritage Open Days, we're running our 'Objects on Demand' event at Verulamium Museum. Explore and get up close to some of the more curious and often unseen objects in our collection. Bring the family and take your pick from a catalogue of items selected by volunteers: from toys to truncheons, silk stockings and forged medallions to arrowheads.
Entry to the museum is also FREE to ALL visitors all Saturday and Sunday.
“Brilliant idea – I’m sure lots of people discovered (maybe for the first time for some) what a fantastic resource the museum is and how it can vividly bring history to life.”
“It’s really cool that you can come and touch and learn about these amazing things.”
“Volunteer was really great and enthusiastic. Being this close and able to hold and talk about the objects is so cool. Would love more of this.”
Check out the blog to find out more about the project and how a team of volunteers made it all happen: from special tours of the stores to a photography training session.
