Enjoy a weekend of lively events and activities to celebrate the opening of this landmark cultural site for St Albans. Following a two year renovation project, the old Town Hall has been fully restored to create a dynamic new museum and gallery.

Join us on Friday 8 June at 10:00 when the new Mayor of St Albans City and District will cut the ribbon and officially open the museum and gallery alongside children from a host of schools from across the district.

Once officially opened, the museum and gallery will come alive with fun and festivities. Bring the whole family and be one of the first to step inside to see the new exhibitions, art installations and restored historic spaces.

From music and performances, face-painting, object handling, trails and activities there will be something for everyone to enjoy throughout the weekend.

Our new café and shop will also be open throughout the weekend. The café will be serving mouthwatering food options and barista-made coffee to keep all visitors fuelled across the opening weekend. Enjoy an array of freshly made hot and cold lunch options whilst you soak up the atmosphere of the pre-Victorian Courtroom.

Don’t forget to pick up a souvenir or two in our museum shop. Inspired by our city, our collections, our exhibitions, and great art, you’ll find a unique selection of must-buy gifts, books and souvenirs.
