This Educational session is designed for Year 4, 5 and 6.
It has a maximum capacity of 32 students and is £90 per session.
It is perfect for bringing to life the topic of the Roman Empire and its impact on Britain and for students to gain knowledge about the archaeologists who undertook the original excavations.
This hour-long workshop explores Roman Verulamium through handling genuine artefacts to build a picture of daily life in the town. Students will roleplay as archaeologists through investigating a variety of aspects of Roman daily life. They will consider the similarities, differences, continuity and changes between Roman times and their own lives.
Skills/Learning Objectives
- Students will gain an understanding of Roman daily life at Verulamium
- Compare and contrast the similarities and differences between the modern and Roman worlds
- Develop students’ enquiry and analysis skills through artefact investigation
Our Educational sessions run from Monday - Friday and are frequently paired with a self-guided tour of Verulamium Museum.
