Many people in the Victorian times collected precious artefacts and antiquities from across the ancient world.
Some people purchased these items at auctions but some went on The Grand Tour, collecting objects themselves. Local St Albans resident and former Mayor, Henry Toulmin, was one of those inquisitive individuals.
Help unravel the mystery of why we have real treasures from Ancient Egypt in our museum collection and discover what these items meant to their original owners thousands of years ago compared to the Victorian collectors.
Available to book from Autumn 2018
