This ever-popular artefact handling session remains the most booked session in our programme.

By exploring both real and replica objects your students will discover the daily life of the Roman town of Verulamium and learn about the archaeologists who undertook the original excavations.

This session is perfect for bringing to life the topic of the Roman Empire and its impact on Britain, in particular the resistance of Boudicca and the Romanisation of Britain. The session can also support the teaching of Latin vocabulary.

Bookings now open for the next academic year (2021-22). Fill in an enquiry form to progress your booking.

You can use our free online resources about the Romans to prepare your classes for the trip or as follow up activities to embed their learning.

We had a really lovely time. The kids were so excited to see what we have been learning about ‘in real life’ and so close to home! One of the children said it was the best day of her life and that it made her realise that she wants to be a historian. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. Thank you so much for making it such a special visit.
