2020 marks the 175th anniversary of the St Albans & Hertfordshire Architectural & Archaeological Society, the home for people curious about the history of St Albans. Telling the story of the city and surrounding district, this exhibition highlights a series of fascinating objects, all associated with the Society showing its regional and national impact.

Whilst the museum is closed the Society have created an online version of their exhibition where you can explore their history in four themed galleries: Discover, Protect, Innovate, Inform.

Visit the exhibition at www.stalbanshistory.org

As part of the exhibition, you can also enter our competition for children, open to those aged 7 years and under, 8 to 12, and 13 and over.

The challenge is to imagine how visitors to the Clock Tower could exit when they've reached the top, assuming that, because of social distancing, they're not able to retrace their steps down the narrow spiral staircase. Then draw the best picture you can to illustrate your solution, and send in a copy. Good luck!
