For hundreds of years the constellations have been used to tell stories, for navigation, and to understand the night sky. Come and investigate the stars, starting with our own star, the Sun, learn about their life cycles and their place in our galaxy.

Explore the season and the whole programme of five shows.

In partnership with the University of Hertfordshire’s School of Physics, Astronomy and Mathematics.

Due to the capacity of the planetarium everyone attending a show (including all accompanying adults) needs to purchase a ticket for the show they are attending with the children in their care. All children need to be supervised at all times. The museum reserves the right to refuse entry if the appropriate number of tickets for your group have not been purchased.  Please note that unfortunately babes in arms cannot be taken into the planetarium and the minimum age is 5 years old for attending a show.

The planetarium is an inflatable dome and when shows are taking place it is an enclosed space. Once inside the planetarium we ask that you remain seated for the duration of the show unless you need to leave for any emergency or medical reason.
