I love local and social history, especially if there is a unique or quirky story to be uncovered. On my visits to St Albans and to the Clocktower I have always been particularly amused by the warning on this door!

I am a regular visitor to the Museum - it’s interesting to learn new stories about the local area and to see the work of other local Artists. Recent favourites include the Ladybird Book exhibition and the work by Eastern Region Textiles Forum.

As a member of Herts Textile Arts, part of Herts Visual Arts, I have been involved in several projects, inspired by Hertfordshire history, so it’s great to have the chance to record another interesting local building. I also took part in Herts Open Studios, sometime ago, based in the Courtroom!

As a graduate of the University of Hertfordshire - BA  Contemporary Applied Arts, Textiles - I use natural dyes in all my work and enjoy exploring the possibilities of both traditional and modern textile techniques.
