Thank you so much for helping us analyse our new digital trail - Tread the Past. We need to know whether people in the park are not seeing the signage, seeing it but aren't interested, or are scanning the QR codes. We can collect data on the scanning, but have no way to test the other two scenarios. That's where you come in!

On the map below, marked with footstep icons, are the 8 stops of the trail. We need you to station yourself near them, and keep a tally of the number of groups* walking past and either missing, ignoring, or interacting with the sign.

Markers in matching colours highlight some benches you could sit and people-watch from. However, if there isn't a bench nearby but you are keen to count one of the other stops, you're welcome to do that. Just please make sure you are at a sufficient distance to ensure people continue to act as they would if you weren't there.

Keep a tally of each of the options (walked passed without engaging with the sign; looked at the sign but did not scan; scanned the sign) and then at the end of your time, please record the details in the form below.

* When counting, don't do it by number of separate individuals who walked past. If there is a group clearly out together, count them as 1. We are interested in overall group behaviour, rather than individuals within a group. E.g. a mum with two children decide to scan the code is a count of 1.
