Our new rum supplier - Kromanti Rum - are coming into the St Albans Museum + Gallery shop for a rum tasting.
Kromanti Rum is an award-winning rum which takes its name from the Kromanti people, and their rums are infused with the ingredients that provided physical and spiritual nourishment to its community - tamarind and plantain.
Kromanti Kojo was a drummer and rumoured Asante prince, captured and exiled to Grenada during the second Maroon war in Jamaica. He helped to inspire Grenada’s rebels to seize control of the plantations they were forced to work on.
Visit the shop on 9 August 1pm-3pm for a free rum tasting, tips on serving and to meet the team and hear more about their story!
Tasting available for over-18s only.
