A literal representation of the Commit No Nuisance Clock Tower door in textiles.
This is entirely my own work in response to the challenge given by St Albans museum.

My mum taught me to sew when I was very young and I developed a love of handling fabric. Sewing was always a useful skill to have and I have used sewing as a form of relaxation and meditation.
I delved into textile art, experimenting with colour and fibre, sometimes mixing textiles with other media or manipulating their texture. My art pieces, and also some of my more useful sewn items, are normally made almost entirely from recycled or scrap fabrics, the end product often reflecting the character of the starting materials.

I love the way that fabrics within a picture add a further depth to the image and allow for both close up interest as well as a striking overall impression.

Medium: Methods used are machine sewn appliqué using a range of fabric types, minimal dye highlighting, free-machined embroidery, heat manipulation, and hand stitched details
