Join us for a horror-themed evening at St Albans Museum + Gallery for a behind-the-scenes look at horror film prosthetics.
Hear from horror-film experts Dr Laura Mee and Dr Shellie McMurdo as they guide you through a live technical demonstration of horror film makeup and prosthetics, led by an experienced prosthetics technician.
Visitors will then have a chance to paint their own ‘mini organ’ to take home with them.
The evening will finish with a wine reception.
This event is part of Being Human Festival, the UK’s national festival of the humanities, taking place 6–15 November 2025. Being Human is led by the School of Advanced Study, University of London, in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy.
