Award winning literary novelist, Linda Proud will be selling and signing her books set in Verulamium "The Albios Way" and "Chariot of the Soul". Meet the author in the Verulamium Museum shop on 12 April from 11:30am-3:30pm.

Her Roman book trilogy is set in Britain at the time of the Roman conquest, and is a first person account by a British king - Togidubnus of the Atrebates.

In his efforts to secure peace, Togidubnus has many adversaries but the chief one is Caratacus of the Catuvellauni. After Caratacus flees, Verulamium is left to form a municipium, a self-governing capital, and steadily adopt Roman ways. For that, Boudicca will raze it to the ground.

‘… a brilliant, economical and poetic writer who brings a character and period of British history previously shrouded in mystery to vivid life.’ Maggie Gee OBE, FRSL

Linda is also the author of four books set in the Florentine Renaissance which describe the world full of martial conflicts, murders and conspiracies that was the nursery to Botticelli’s mythological paintings. A Tabernacle for the Sun was long-listed for the Booker Prize.

Entry to the Verulamium shop is free, Linda's books will be available to purchase in the shop. There is an admission charge to visit Verulamium Museum.
