Following the success of our first event in July 2025, we have scheduled two dates in 2026 at Verulamium Museum especially for home educating families. Activities on each day once again include a small group activity led by one of our team, an opportunity to handle genuine historical artefacts, a craft, dressing up and a museum trail to help you explore.

On 12th January our day will be focused on Religious Beliefs and Practices at Verulamium. Find out about temples, shrines, gods, lucky charms, grave goods, and more! Choose either the morning or the afternoon session and take part in -

  • Artefact investigation – small group activity of 20-30 minutes led by one of our museum team
  • Choice of museum trails to help you explore the galleries
  • Roman themed craft activities
  • Dressing up

Spaces are limited for each session. Ticket price includes museum entrance and all activities, including use of the lunchroom.

Bookings for 12th January close on 5th January.

Activities are mainly suitable for children up to age 11

On 1st June the focus for the day will be an Introduction to Archaeology and Life in Roman Verulamium. Bookings open on 3rd March.
