In the run up to St Albans SustFest 2023 come and explore the role of our planet in art. Take Five are artists who live or work in Hertfordshire and each is inspired by the earth in their different disciplines.

The complex processes which have produced the Earth’s geology, materials and landscapes have inspired artists throughout human history. Even the materials themselves used by ceramicists, glass makers, painters and textile artists are created by these geological processes, part of our every day world. Explore the way that our familiar landscapes and everyday materials such as clay, chalk and sand can be transformed into beautiful pieces of art and think about how our planet inspires you.
