Climb the Clock Tower!

St Albans' Medieval Clock Tower is a unique, historic building and a symbol of how the city was organised and ruled over 600 years ago. But what was it built for? Just how high is it? And who lived and worked there?

Come along with your class to find the answers to all these questions and more as you climb the 93 steps and admire the views over our beautiful city.

Climb the Clock Tower is best suited to KS2 upwards and is £100 for 1 hour and up to 32 children.

During winter, the Clock Tower is closed, but we are taking bookings for in the Spring.

Please note the Clock Tower is not wheelchair accessible or suitable for those who experience claustrophobia. The climb up to the top is via 93 very narrow and steep steps. In poor weather conditions e.g. frost, ice, fog, snow or heavy rain the Clock Tower cannot be climbed and each booking will be assessed on a case by case basis and rescheduled if necessary/possible.  If you have any specific questions please add them on your message to the team via our enquiry form.
