Curated by the museum’s Front of House team in collaboration with curator David Thorold, this exhibition brings together remarkable Roman artefacts from the museum’s collection to explore how they may have been used by the people who lived, worked and socialised in one of Roman Britain’s most important towns.
Journey through a typical day in Roman Verulamium and meet a cast of characters inspired by the archaeological objects from hairpins to cleavers. Follow the routines of craftspeople, traders, children, servants and high-status residents as they go about their daily lives eating, working, shopping and relaxing in this thriving Roman town.
