UH Arts + Culture and St Albans Museum + Gallery are delighted to invite you to a special event to celebrate the launch of our new publication!

Join us for a talk that shares an insight into life at St Albans School of Art following our research project – Living Memories of St Albans School of Art. Led by UH Arts + Culture in collaboration with St Albans Museum + Gallery, this project invited staff, students and alumni of the art school to share their memories in a variety of methods which has fed into the talk and publication.

Speakers:

  • Sophie Leach: Keynote – Sophie attended the school for her foundation and now is Deputy General Secretary at the National Society for Education in Art and Design (NSEAD) where she leads on publications, policy and research. She will speak on the value of art education, why art, craft and design education matters – with reflections on St Albans foundation course, the college and the city.
  • Laura Rolinson: Reflections on Living Memories of St Albans School of Art – Laura is the Engagement and Research Coordinator for this project at UH Arts + Culture. Alongside this, she is a project manager, facilitator and producer working in the cultural sector for 10 years. She is a Trustee for One Tenth Human and General Manager at visual arts and environment organisation, Invisible Dust.

He will share some of his thoughts from St Albans School of Art concerning art in a time of change.
