Climb the 93 steps to the top of the only medieval town belfry in England and enjoy the magnificent views of the Cathedral, the historic city of St Albans and the beauty of the surrounding countryside. Visitors can also admire the Victorian clock mechanism on the second floor and the great medieval bell, Gabriel, on the fourth floor.

The tower has been closed this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic but we are opening it for one weekend only to coincide with Heritage Open Days.

Visitors will need to pre-book their tickets to visit the Clock Tower. We ask that you arrive in plenty of time for your specified time slot - we have allowed 20 minutes per visit. In order to keep to our booking schedule, we will not accept latecomers. Only one social bubble can visit in each time slot (maximum of 6 people). In line with government guidelines and to ensure the safety of all our staff and visitors, everyone entering the building will be required to wear a face mask (unless this is not possible for access reasons). Hand sanitiser is provided and we ask that you use this as you enter and exit the building.
