Objects on Demand is a changing exhibition in our Landing Gallery at St Albans Museum + Gallery. It features objects chosen by our museum visitors, volunteers or staff, and you can choose too!

The museum has been collecting objects and specimens since the 1890s and we now hold 65,000 objects relating to Daily Life, Working Life, Childhood, Costume, Natural History, Fine Art and Archaeology.

Objects on Demand enables you to choose the objects, from any of these categories, that you would like to see on display.

You can request an object for any reason: because you have knowledge to share about it, to mark an occasion or event, or simply because it makes you smile - anything goes!

Be sure to visit the Landing Gallery for inspiration.

We aim to accommodate all requests, but please note that some items are too big, or their condition is too delicate for them to be out on display.

To choose an object for the Objects on Demand display:

  1. Search our objects via the collections webpage

  2. Tell us your choice by completing the form below

You can request your object anytime and we’ll respond once a month.  You are also welcome to request more than one object.

We aim to accommodate all requests, but please note that some items are too big, or their condition is too delicate for them to be out on display.

What will you choose?
