Commercial Services Manager (P1705)

Full time, 37 hours. Inclusive Salary from £32,638 up to £36,543 per year (Pay Award Pending) plus up to 18.5% employer pension contribution.

St Albans is a unique English Cathedral City with a colourful history which can be seen in the Roman remains and variety of beautiful architecture, heritage sites and conservation areas. Set within green belt, off the M25, A1M and M1 the District includes a cathedral, historic city centre and charming villages. 

St Albans Museums runs several museum and heritage sites including Verulamium Museum, the 15th century Clock Tower and the new St Albans Museum + Gallery, at the heart of the city centre.

You will be joining the Museums team at an exciting time, 2 years on from opening a brand-new museum and gallery. 

You will lead on developing a dynamic commercial offer with responsibilities for income generation across venue hire, catering and retail areas of the Museum service.

Managed by the Museums Business Manager, you will work with the Visitor Services Managers at Verulamium Museum and St Albans Museum + Gallery and the catering and events contractors, LEAFI, to implement income generating strategies and increase revenue.

Visitor Services Manager (P1718)

In this post you will directly manage the front of house operations team within the St Albans Museums Service, ensuring the highest standards of customer care and venue presentation. 

You will have a passion for delivering a high quality, enjoyable experience for visitors. You will develop robust front of house procedures and policies for the venues operated by the Museum Service. This will include development activities for the team and providing leadership in operational matters. 

You will have an eye for detail and lead the Museum Service’s front of house team in terms of health and safety practices and procedures.  

Previous experience of delivering cultural and/or heritage facility services and successfully managing a small team is essential for this post.
